Why do you have the same rates for travel and production days?

Travel days are billed as full working days because this time is necessary to complete an assignment and the visual creators cannot work on other projects during this time. Additionally, travel days are often long and tiring. Compensation for this time is part of a fair payment strategy.

Why are there travel days and travel expenses?

We pay the visual creators for all days on which they are on the road for an assignment. We charge travel days as full working days, as this travel time is absolutely necessary for the execution of the assignment and the visual creators cannot work on other projects during this time. Travel days are also often very long and exhausting.

Expenses for travel and accommodation are compensated according to actual costs. Since Fairpicture works with local creators, travel expenses are normally less than 5% of the total assignment fee.

Why are post-production days included?

Every photography and video assignment needs a post-production period in which the visual content is edited and prepared for the client. Additionally, Fairpicture requires all assets to follow the IPTC metadata guidelines, which requires time and attention. The location, name and ages of people depicted as well as a comprehensive caption is included with every photo and video.

For photography, post-production time includes selecting images, making minor visual edits and preparing the metadata.

For video, the scope of work in post-production time depends on the type of service and amount of footage you choose.

What is a rush fee?

Please be aware that a rush fee of CHF 300.00 will apply to your project if production is scheduled to start in less than 7 days.

The rush fee is applied in this case because starting the production process on very short notice requires us to make adjustments to our current production schedule, allocate immediate resources, and potentially incur additional expenses. This fee helps cover those extra costs associated with initiating the production process quickly, ensuring that we can accommodate your project's timely start.
